City Wide Earns Spot on Entrepreneur Magazine’s 40th Annual Franchise 500® List

City Wide announced today that it has been named in the top third of Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500® list, which is considered the world’s first, best and most comprehensive franchise ranking in the industry.

The franchise, recognized for its ability to provide innovative solutions for commercial property managers and real estate owners, generated $251,200,000 in 2018, a 24.6% increase from the previous year.

“With every incredible milestone we reach, we are honored and inspired to reflect on our success in the building maintenance industry,” said Jeff Oddo, president and CEO of City Wide Franchise. “This recognition from Entrepreneur is for each of our franchise partners and corporate team, who collectively work toward strengthening the company every year.”

The key factors that go into Entrepreneur’s evaluation include costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability. All franchises are given a cumulative score based on more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500® in ranking order.

“As we celebrate 40 years of producing the Franchise 500, it’s a good opportunity to step back and look at how much has changed since that first ranking in 1980,” says Jason Feifer, editor in chief of Entrepreneur. “While the franchise business model has changed little, the strongest franchise brands are constantly evolving and innovating to keep up with changing trends and technology.”

City Wide has made a name for itself in major U.S. cities by streamlining commercial facilities and maintenance management of more than 20 services including janitorial, handyman services and parking lot maintenance. Taking the onus from building owners and property management businesses that typically have to choose separate companies for each task, City Wide eases the selection and management processes for its clients.

Entrepreneurially spirited individuals interested in owning a City Wide franchise should have the ability to invest 200,000, which includes working capital and a typical franchise fee of 55,000.

Over its 40 years in existence, the Franchise 500® has become both a dominant competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for potential franchisees. City Wide’s position on the ranking is a testament to its strength as a franchise opportunity.
